We had so much fun during our Project Team kick-off! Thank you to our 5th grade Lamar leaders who helped out with making videos about each character! Here's the first of two posts!

Summitview joins other schools across the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week during the last week of October. This week reminds us of the importance of making healthy choices and staying drug-free in order to reach our goals. Here are a few pictures of our spirit days!

Dr. McCallum visited kindergarten during math this week. Learners have been practicing their skills with number order, writing numbers, and identifying quantities. So proud of these learners for their focus and hard work and love their enthusiasm to learn new things!

Jace and Mrs. Murray want to remind everyone that this Friday, November 6 is twin day!

A note from the cafeteria - since the learners will have some extra treats on Friday, October 30, next week's ice cream day will be WEDNESDAY, 10/28. If your learner is buying ice cream, please either put the money on his/her account through MySchoolBucks or send the $1 in an envelope labeled with your child's first and last name, grade, and student ID number.

Reminder that our spirit days for Project TEAM kickoff and Red Ribbon Week continue tomorrow, 10/23 through 10/30. Follow this link for the schedule - https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/952855/Summitview_Spirit_Days_October__2020_.pdf
We will have fall parties on Friday, 10/30. Our COVID-19 reopening safety protocol prevents volunteers from assisting in the building during parties. However we are looking for support from our families to provide donations for the parties. At this time about half of the items are signed up for but we are still looking for volunteers to bring other items. Please follow the link below to view the remaining items needed and to sign up (most sign ups are less than $5 each). Small items can be sent to school with your child; larger items should be dropped off. We would like everything to be at school by Monday, October 26 so that we can purchase additional items and begin sorting everything by classroom.Â

Today is Friday, which means it is ice cream day in the cafeteria! A few notes for next week to help out the cafeteria staff:
1. The easiest way to put money on your child's lunch account is through MySchoolBucks. (Follow this link to set up/access your account - https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/login/getlogin.action)
2. If you prefer to send money to school you MUST (a) label the money with your child's first and last name and student ID number, (b) have your child turn the money into their teacher in the morning OR place it inside the cafeteria drop box. WASD COVID reopening safety protocols prevent cafeteria staff from accepting cash through the lunch line.
3. Please talk to your child about whether or not you permit them to buy ice cream. Remember this is an ala carte item and is not included in free/reduced lunch, the cost of lunch, or including in the USDA free lunch program now in effect.

The following items are currently in our lost and found. If you see something that belongs to your child, please have him/her pick it up near the bell.

Picture re-take day will be Thursday, October 22 at 1:00 pm!
