Summitview Elementary School

Hello SV Families! We have some extra York Revolution tickets, but the number is very limited. We want to offer them to any student who was in K-5 at Summitview this past school year. Once they are gone, we will not be able to get any more. Our office staff will be available today and tomorrow until about 4 PM (the office will be closed around lunchtime as well). If you cannot make it to the office during those times, please email Mr. Pappas requesting tickets. Thank you, and we hope your families are enjoying the summer.

This is just a reminder to fifth graders who attended the York Revolution baseball game this spring. We have two extra tickets per student who went to that game. If you would like to pick them up at school tomorrow between eight and three, you can. If those times do not work please email Mr. Pappas at steve_pappas@wasdpa.org. After Wednesday, we will be opening up these tickets to the entire school so if you cannot make it tomorrow, please email Mr. Pappas and he can arrange another time for you to get the tickets.

Hello SV Families!! If your 5th-grade child attended the York Revolution game (which was canceled), they are entitled to 2 free tickets to be used during the 2025 season. On June 9 and 10, we will be at the school from 8 AM to 3 PM, if you would like to pick up the 2 free tickets. Again, these tickets are only for the student who went to the game with the school. Our yard sale is tomorrow. It begins at 8 AM and it will be in the front driveway of our school. We hope you can come out and support our families and our school.

Tomorrow is beach day. We told our students to dress like they're going to the beach, but they are not to wear swimsuits. Thank you!

The baseball game ended up being canceled today. The York Revolution will be sending us extra tickets. (We believe for each student who went today and a ticket for a parent.) Once those tickets are sent to us, we will be handing them out. Our students were very patient today in the rain and we appreciated that.

Good evening, SV families! This is just a reminder about keeping our students safe at dismissal. If you are picking up your child, you need to park in our parking lot and come to the flagpole area or be in the lines in front of our building. Either way, you will need your child's pick-up number card.  If your child is a walker, it is expected that they walk directly home from school.  We do not want children or parents walking through the lines of traffic in front of our building. This has been occurring, especially when parents are parking on 2nd Street, instead of following our set procedures. Doing this could possibly lead to someone getting injured. Again, if you are picking up your child from school, please be in the lines in front of our school or park in our main parking lot and come to the flagpole area. Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe. 

Today is hat day. Students had to donate at least one dollar to participate.

Book Bingo Night is Friday night!!

More information from our PTO: Thursday is PTO’s annual Pretty Posies Flower Sale! Students will have the opportunity to purchase 4 flowers. Each flower costs just $1.00 (cash or coins only). If we have extra flowers and there is time before dismissal, students will be able to purchase extra flowers (again, $1.00 each). At this point, there is no limit as long as they are able to safely transport their flowers home. Students can bring small boxes to carry their flowers home. We will also have cup carriers and bags in case you forget. If possible, please send in small bills (no $50/$100 bills and no personal checks can be accepted). This is NOT a fundraiser…just our spring tradition that has taken place since the 1900’s!

Our PTO meeting is on Thursday, 5/7/25, at 4 PM in our library. We hope to see you there! We are having a YARD SALE on 5/24/25 in our parking lot.

Tomorrow is our last regular day for PSSAs, and it is only for our 5th graders (Science). Our students did an excellent job with their effort and their attendance during this testing cycle. Thank you, Summitview students!!!
