Hello Waynesboro families!

The Sapphire Community Web Portal will open back up to the district on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 8:00 am.  At that time parents and guardians will be able to access their account and they will be able to see their learner’s teacher and schedule for the 2022 - 2023 school year. Please note, transportation information is currently in the process of being finalized.  You may see pick-up and drop-off information for your learner.  If you do not have a pick-up or drop-off time by August 17, 2022, please contact the transportation office for assistance.  We appreciate your patience while we finalize bus assignments, pick-up and drop-off times.

If you do not have a Sapphire Community Web Portal, please visit the Waynesboro Area School District Website, select Welcome to WASDPA from the menu bar and select Sapphire Community Web Portal. If you have issues logging into the Sapphire Community Web Portal on Monday morning, please contact your learner’s school and the front office secretary will be able to assist you.  This is a reminder that the 5 digit pin that was once required has phased out and it is no longer needed when logging in.

This is also a general reminder that if you have moved out of the Waynesboro Area School District over the summer, please make sure that you have contacted your learner’s new school so we can send records and withdraw them from school here in WASD.  Failure to do so will result in unexcused absences at the beginning of the school year and may result in truancy citations.

Additionally, Mrs. Helman, the Director of Food Services shared an announcement at the end of June regarding the end of free lunch.

The Waynesboro Area School District’s Food Service Program has been operating under waivers for the 2020-2021 and the 2021-2022 school year, to allow learners and families with the greatest flexibility to obtain nutritional meals during the unprecedented circumstances caused by the COVID pandemic. These waivers expired on June 30, 2022.

THEREFORE, MEALS will NOT be free for all learners during the 2022-23 school year.

In order to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, a Household Application for Free or Reduced Meals will be required to determine free and reduced eligibility for the 2022-2023 school year, unless a learner is directly certified.  Families have not been required to complete an application since the 2019-2020 school year.   If you need to apply for free or reduced meals, please visit the Waynesboro Area School District website, select Departments on the menu bar and then select Food Service.  Application information can be found there.

Please make sure you keep an eye out for more announcements regarding back to school nights, school supply lists and more on Abre, Waynesboro Area School District social media and our website.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.

We will see everyone back for the first day on August 24, 2022.
