Each summer the Waynesboro Area School District's maintenance and custodial teams work diligently to clean our buildings, resolve work tickets, and prepare the facilities for the new school year. In addition to all of their hard work, the district also plans to complete capital projects during this summer. For 2023, the scope and size of the capital projects is due to the use of the ESSER (federal stimulus) funding to complete guaranteed energy savings programs.

The accompanying chart shows the buildings, scope of work, and estimated cost for these projects. The state-funded PlanCon process for building projects has been closed for more than 6 years. Using federal stimulus funds to maintain district buildings is a good use of one-time money for capital projects.
