This is the text from a Boro Blast call on 7/27/2020:
Good evening this is Steve Pappas calling from WASHS with some important messages for our students and their families.
First, we will be holding two graduation ceremonies, one tomorrow and the second one on Wednesday. All graduates participating have already completed the sign-up process. The graduates and their guests should arrive 15 minutes prior to their sign-up time and enter the building at the back gym entrance. If a guest registered for handicapped parking they should park in the front lower parking lot at WASHS. Those using these parking spots will be able to enter the building at the A level lobby entrance. District staff will be throughout the lower level of the building to make sure all graduates and their guests have a pleasant experience. Graduates need to remember to wear their cap and gown to the ceremony.
Next, the 20-21 student schedules will be released on the community web portal for students and their families to view at the end of the day on Friday. If you have any questions about your schedule, please email your guidance counselor on or after August 11th.
Finally, we will be holding new student tours for all incoming 9th graders and all students new to WASHS. We are going to offer many different times for students and one guest to attend a tour. The sign-up will been done through Sign Up Genius and a link for sign-ups will be on our website and Facebook page by the end of the day on Thursday.
If you have any questions about these messages or about our outline to the 20-21 reopening, please email me at Steve_pappas@wasdpa.org
Thank you and I hope you and your family are well.

Mr. Erickson, our Technology Director, is in the process of creating our live stream link for the graduation ceremony. That link will be on our website soon.

The New Student Tour sign-up link will be released on Thursday by the end of the day. We will be having a total of 13 tours and we will offer 2 evening time slots. These tours are for any new student to WASHS and one of their family members.

Students who are attending FCCTC this fall should contact FCCTC with any questions they have about their program this year. Thank you.

220 members of the Class of 2020 were sent an email about the graduation ceremony that will be held on our football field on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 6:30 PM. The 220 students completed the graduation survey and stated they were attending the ceremony. Each one of those students will receive 2 tickets for their family members to attend the ceremony.

This is a reminder to parents/community members: Please email Mr. Pappas if you have any questions. He does not respond to Facebook or Twitter posts. His email is steve_pappas@wasdpa.org
Thanks!

Tomorrow, July 10, is the last day for our graduates to complete the graduation survey. The survey will help us know who is attending the upcoming graduation ceremony. The survey was sent to all students in the Class of 2020 through their school-issued email. The survey can only be completed through their school-issued email.

Reminder: If you are coming into WASHS to pick up any item, please contact Mrs. Helfrick to set up a time. Her email address is sheri_helfrick@wasdpa.org and her extension is 1215. We are currently closed on Fridays and will continue to be so throughout July. Thank you.

Starting on June 29 until further notice, please contact Mrs. Helfrick (x1215) to set up a time to pick up a yearbook, work permit, and/or diploma (for those not attending on July 28). Thank you.

Mr. Pappas sent an email this morning to all graduates of the Class of 2020 regarding the July 28th Commencement Ceremony. There is a survey (in the email) graduates need to complete so we know who is attending the ceremony. Additionally, an email and phone message just went out to all families of graduates regarding this information.

On 6/9/2020, the School Board voted to have a July 28th (6:30 PM) commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020. The Class of 2020, just received an school-issued email with details pertaining to this ceremony and on how to pick up a diploma, if they cannot attend the ceremony.

For the months of June and July, the WASHS office will be closed on Fridays. Please call ahead if you are visiting the office on Monday-Thursday, as we are still under the COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you.
