FAFSA

Hello Class of 2024 & 2025 Early Grad Families,

The purpose of this message is to share additional information about Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshop on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the WASHS Library. This is a Open House style event so families may arrive any time between 6:00-7:30 pm due to the time to complete the application.

Attendees may park in the courtyard or d-wing parking lot.

Bring to the Meeting:

  • There is a student and a parent/guardian component to the application so, if possible, your student should also attend
  • Your student should bring their WASD Chromebook to work on the application. (You may bring your own laptop but you will need to connect to the WASD guest network.)
  • FSA ID and passwords for (1) student and (2) parent/contributors
  • Credentials to access email, device to access text messages (see note below regarding two-step verification)
  • 2022 W-2 Forms (for parent/contributor and student, if applicable)

PRIOR TO THE SESSION:

  • Use the following resources to help determine which parent(s) needs to contribute information to the student’s FAFSA:

  • NO LATER THAN Friday, February 16, your student needs to create their FSA ID
  • NO LATER THAN Friday, February 16, ANY CONTRIBUTOR needs to create their FSA ID
    • Click HEREto create an FSA ID.
    • Please bring FSA ID and password to the meeting. 
    • If you have previously created an FSA ID, please log in to THISwebsite and update your password if needed. 

At the meeting, parents and students will need to access text messages and personal email accounts (When logging in to FAFSA, two-step verification process is required).
