The WASD Division B Science Olympiad team had a very successful weekend at the State Tournament held at Penn State Altoona on Saturday, April 27th. After qualifying at the Central Regional Tournament, our team competed against 35 other school districts, who had won in their regional tournaments as well. All in all, 73 districts started the year with teams.
The WASD team won 13 medals, making them the best group the school district has ever had! WASD had won five medals in three previous state appearances, so this was a banner year!
The highlight of the day was Caiden Shacreaw and Tyler Rooney winning the state championship in the Crime Busters event. Several students won two medals on the day as well. |
