Hello Everyone,

We have started Week 7 of face-to-face school.  This week is the second week without Virtual Wednesdays. We are now doing five-day weeks.

I want to thank everyone for your cooperation and patience.  So far, we have been very successful.

WASD has had strict protocols in place during this pandemic.  Hopefully, because of those protocols, we are still in school.

A couple of reminders:

  • Please check your child daily for symptoms as fever, chills, sneezing, coughing, fatigue, sore throat, muscle or body aches, headache, nausea, and/or difficulty breathing.  If your child shows these symptoms, please keep him or her home.
  • Have your child wash hands regularly and often.
  • Students and all adults must wear face coverings when entering and remaining in a building or a bus.  This is a department of education directive that the schools must follow.
  • If we follow all these precautions, we can keep schools open and have a successful school year.

Update of Number of COVID-19 Cases in the WASD:

As of today, October 13, 2020, we have no new cases of COVID-19 among staff and students.

As of today, October 13, 2020, there have been no cases of COVID-19 within the WASD staff, and 2 cases of COVID-19 of students in our district buildings since school has opened on August 31st.  Please understand, these numbers only reflect students that are physically to our schools.  Students who are in cyber charters, private schools, virtual schools as APEX, FVA or our Hybrid, are not included in these numbers; only those attending our schools.

Thank you.  Stay healthy and #BoroStrong.
