09-22-20 - Message from Dr. Kline - Superintendent

Hello Everyone,

I want to continue to thank everyone for your cooperation and patience working through the start of the school year.

We are working through many issues that have been brought to our attention due to the pandemic and returning to school.  Again, we just ask for your patience as we work the issues.

A couple of reminders:

  • Please check your child daily for symptoms as fever, chills, sneezing, coughing, fatigue, sore throat, muscle or body aches, headache, nausea, and/or difficulty breathing.  If your child shows these symptoms, please keep him or her home.
  • Have your child wash hands regularly and often.
  • Students and all adults must wear face coverings when entering and remaining in a building or a bus.  This is a department of education directive that the schools must follow.
  • If we follow all these precautions, we can keep schools open and have a successful school year.

Update of Number of COVID-19 Cases in the WASD:

As of today, September 22, 2020, there are no  cases of COVID-19 within the WASD staff, and 2 cases of COVID-19 of students in our district buildings since school has opened on August 31st.  Please understand, these numbers only reflect students that are physically to our schools.  Students who are in cyber charters, private schools, virtual schools as APEX, FVA or our Hybrid, are not included in these numbers; only those attending our schools.

Thank you.  Stay healthy and #BoroStrong.
